This policy explains what information OffshoreDesk collects when you visit the site, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We aim to keep things short and readable rather than wrapped in legal jargon.

What we collect

We collect a limited amount of information, mostly through standard web technologies:

  • Analytics data: pages viewed, time on page, referring website, approximate location (usually city or region level), device type, browser, and screen size.
  • Cookies and similar storage: small files placed on your device to remember preferences (such as your cookie choice) and to help analytics tools count unique visits.
  • Server logs: your IP address, request time, and the page requested. These are generated automatically when any browser loads a website.
  • Information you send us: if you contact us by email or through a form, we receive whatever you choose to include, such as your name, email address and message.

How we use it

The data above is used to:

  • Understand which guides and reviews are useful so we can improve them.
  • Spot technical problems, broken pages and unusual traffic.
  • Reply to questions, feedback or correction requests.
  • Keep the site reasonably secure against abuse.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not build advertising profiles about individual readers.

Third parties

Some functions rely on outside services. These may include an analytics provider, a content delivery network, a hosting provider, and email tools used to answer messages. Where you click an outbound link to a casino or other operator, that operator's own privacy policy applies once you leave OffshoreDesk. We may use tracked links to understand which recommendations readers find helpful, but this does not share your name or email with the operator.

Cookies and your choices

On your first visit you are asked whether to accept non-essential cookies. You can change your mind at any time by clearing cookies in your browser or by using the cookie settings link on the site. Essential cookies, such as the one that stores your cookie choice, are always set because the site cannot work properly without them.

You can also block cookies entirely in your browser settings, use private browsing, or install a tracker-blocking extension. The site will still load normally.

Your data rights

If you are in the UK or the EEA, data protection law gives you rights over personal data we hold about you. In plain terms you can ask us to:

  • Tell you what we hold and provide a copy.
  • Correct anything that is wrong.
  • Delete it, where there is no overriding reason to keep it.
  • Stop using it for a specific purpose, such as analytics.

You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you think we have handled your data badly.

How long we keep data

Analytics records are kept for a limited period and then aggregated or deleted. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to deal with your query and any follow-up.

Contacting us

For any privacy question, including requests to access or delete your data, use the contact form or the email address shown on our Contact page. Please mention Privacy in the subject so we can route your message quickly.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and refresh the date shown at the top of it. Significant changes will be flagged on the homepage for a short period.
