OffshoreDesk is a small editorial project run from Great Britain that reviews online casinos licensed outside the UK and not signed up to GamStop. We exist because a growing number of GB players look at offshore sites for reasons the mainstream press rarely covers properly: different game libraries, higher table limits, crypto rails, or self-exclusion choices they want to make on their own terms. That market is noisy and full of affiliate pages that read like sales sheets. We try to be the opposite.

Every review on this site is written or edited by Rhys Pendry, who has spent years working through casino terms, payment processors and complaint threads. Rhys is the named person behind the testing notes, the screenshots and the final scores. If something on the site is wrong, it is his to fix.

How we test

We do not score casinos from a press release. For each brand we cover, the process looks roughly like this:

  • Real money in. We open an account as a normal GB player would, deposit our own funds and play across slots, live tables and, where offered, sports or crash games.
  • Timed withdrawals. We request a cashout and start a timer. We record how long verification takes, what documents are demanded, and whether the first payout matches what the cashier page promised.
  • Reading the small print. Bonus terms, maximum bet rules, dormant account fees, currency conversion charges and jurisdiction clauses all get read line by line. The traps are almost always in clauses 7 to 12.
  • Support stress tests. We message live chat at awkward hours with awkward questions to see whether agents read the account or paste a script.
  • Re-checks. Sites change. We revisit reviews and mark them with the date they were last verified, not the date they were first written.

How we rank

Rankings are based on evidence we have gathered, not on what an operator is willing to pay. The factors that move a score are concrete: payout speed, fairness of bonus terms, licence quality, complaint history, game range, deposit and withdrawal options for GB players, and how the casino behaves when something goes wrong.

An operator cannot buy a higher position, a featured badge or a softer verdict. If we like a site, we say why. If we do not, we say that too, with the specific clauses or behaviour that put us off.

Editorial independence

OffshoreDesk earns commission when readers sign up to some of the casinos we list. That is how the site pays for itself. It does not change the order of our rankings, the content of our reviews or our willingness to flag problems. Commercial relationships have no input into editorial decisions, and operators do not see reviews before they are published.

Who this site is for

We write for adults in Great Britain who already understand that offshore casinos sit outside UKGC protection and want a clearer view of the trade-offs involved. We are not a recovery service and we are not a substitute for professional support. If gambling is causing harm, GamCare and the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133 are free, confidential and available around the clock.
